to the policy think tank, Ghana as a democratic nation has come of age in
Africa in its democratic credentials hence the need for institutional build-up.
In
a press release issued to Fiila News today by the think tank and signed by its
Senior Research Fellow, Ziblim Saaka said Ghanaians has once again proved to
the entire world that indeed the credentials earned as a beacon of democracy
and best security force in Africa is not a mere fluke but a continues
reality.
GIGS
is an independent, non-partisan and non-governmental policy think tank
organization dedicated to strengthening society through law and justice,
promote democratic governance, security, and to promote corporate enterprise.
Mr.
Ziblim said as a policy think tank they owe it a duty to crave for peace and
good governance in the aftermath of the Supreme Court verdict.
The
think tank therefore commended the 2012 presidential candidate of the New
Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for
accepting the Supreme Court verdict and exhibiting statesmanship and maturity.
Soon after the nine-member panel
of Supreme Court justices dismissed a petition, Nana thrown in the towel when addressing party
supporters and the media at his Nima residence in Accra.
He
also commended the security for the professional manner they have shown in
maintaining law and order during and after the verdict.
He also commended the media for their maturity
in reportage in the election petition hearing in the supreme.
The
think tank therefore congratulated President John Dramani Mahama, the
petitioners and the electoral commission for their support in deepening Ghana’s
democracy.
