JUBILEE OIL EXHIBITION OPENS IN TAMALE

JUBILEE OIL EXHIBITION OPENS IN TAMALE
The Centre for National Culture in collaboration with the Jubilee partners at the weekend opened a three-day exhibition in Tamale to showcase various aspects of Ghana's oil finding and its effects for the country's socio-economic development.
The exhibition which ends today, showcases captivating photos and text information about how the country's oil was discovered, explored and developed.
Its objective is to educate the citizenry to understand all that they need to know about the oil industry in the country.
The Communications Manager of Tullow Ghana Limited Gerhard Mensah on behalf of the jubilee partners described the country's oil field as "a world class project" because of its premium quality.
The communication manager called on Ghanaians to be cautious about their expectations of the oil industry saying it will not be the universal remedy in solving all the developmental challenges of the country.
Deputy Northern Regional Minister, San Nasamu Asabigi said government's plan was to use the oil revenues to invest in the people because human beings were at the centre of any developmental activity.
Mr. Asabigi called on students to show keen interest in the oil industry in their areas of studies. He urged all to visit the exhibition centre and learn more about the country's oil industry.
Ghana formally began production of oil on commercial quantities from her Jubilee Oil Field in December last year, producing 120,000 barrels of crude oil on a daily basis.
After the exhibition the jubilee partners in an interaction with the media call for collaborative efforts of the media to sensitize the people more on the oil exploration in the country.
Mr. Mensah also bemoaned the reportage of most of the media houses in the country about the oil industry.
He also promised that the jubilee partners will organize sensitization workshop for media men and women in the country to curtail the situation.
