Junior Doctors of the Tamale Teaching Hospital strike action
has entered into day two as efforts by authorities to resolve their grievances
hits a deadlock.
The junior doctors yesterday embarked on a strike over unpaid
fuel allowances for almost three years.
The Doctors say they are not going to rescind their decision
until all fuel allowances due them are dully paid.
However, Fiila News has observed that the situation if not
addressed immediately is likely to affect health care delivery in the only referral
center for residents of the three regions of the North.
In an interview with the President of the Junior Doctors
Association of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. Bentil Wewoli, he said the
association is yet to meet the authorities to discuss the matter.
He however indicated that the strike continues unabated
pending when the problem would be resolved.
