DISGRUNTLED NDC YOUTH LOCK UP NYEP OFFICE

Desperate job seeking youth of the ruling NDC in Tamale yesterday morning, stormed the Northern Regional Office of the National Youth Employment (NYEP) Office and locked up the Tamale Central Office of the NYEP.
Mohammed Sobur, the Tamale Central Coordinator was chased out at the time of the riot by the aggressors who wielded machetes, stones and sticks.
The Northern Regional Correspondent of Peace fm, Kwabena Ntow was nearly lynched at the scene but for the timely intervention of some concern persons among the aggressors gesture him away from the scene on his motor bike.
Concerns are that, the Tamale Central Coordinator, Mohammed Sobur allegedly sold NYEP forms that were made available by Member of Parliament for the constituency, Inusah Fuseini for distribution to some jobless youth in his constituency.
The aggressors alleged that only few copies were distributed to each ward in the constituency with the remaining sold out to the disadvantage of the unemployed masses.
They also accused Mohammed Sobur of building a house within a short period since he assumed office as the Tamale Central Constituency Coordinator.
When contacted, Mohammed Adam Amin alias Abio, Regional Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme regretted the incident but gave the assurance that his office will address the concerns.
Barely some weeks ago the peeved youth the NDC has kept leadership of the Atta Mill led administration on their toes across the country coupled with what the youth say they still remain unemployed as they were promised to be given jobs when the party recapture power.
For almost two years now since the party recaptures the presidential seat of the country, the youth claimed they has not seen any changes, who has toiled and risk their lives for the party during the 2008 general elections.
