SHOEMAKERS DONATES TO NYOHINI ORPHANAGE

The Tamale Shoemakers Association in their own diverse ways has donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Nyohini Orphanage. The items include 41 pieces of sandals, biscuits, toiletries, 80 pieces of Rambo mini-bar soap among others.
Presenting the items to the orphanage, the Chairman of the Shoemakers Association, Mr. Abdul-Majeed Ibrahim Andani said the donation is part of the association’s annual plans to touch the lives and showcase their love and passion to the vulnerable in the society to ensure their wellbeing among the citizenry.
According to him, the association sees everybody as vulnerable but in a situation of the orphanage there is the urgent need for them to also contribute their mare to the affairs of the less privilege.
He indicated that the vulnerable needs inclusion and respect but not isolation urging the society to let them realized their importance to the socio-economic development of the nation.
The association which is barely 6 months old according to the chairman has the vision of extending its humanitarian service to various orphanages in the Metropolis.
Mr. Abdul-Majeed Andani therefore used the opportunity to make a passionate appealed to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to as a matter of urgency allocate a site for the shoemakers which he believe will help boost the production and marketing of their products, adding that it will also raise the revenue generation of the assembly.
In complementing government’s efforts to create employment, Mr. Abdul-Majeed Andani said the association when allocated to a particular site will have a chance to train the teeming unemployed youth to gain reputable self employment which he believes will help curtail the conflict canker that plaque the north.
The Caretaker of the orphanage, Madam Augustina Quainoo commended the association for the kind gesture saying that the donation was timely and appropriates as it’s in the rainy season and most of the inmates are in die need of foot wares.
She however showered the Shoemakers Association with the name of God wishing them well in all their endeavours.
